Canon to Announce Three New EOS R Series Cameras in the second half of 2022?

According to Canon Rumors, Canon will release three RF-mount mirrorless cameras in the second half of 2022. Among them, Canon will definitely release an RF mount APS-C format mirrorless camera in 2022, which may incorporate the features of the M50 series and 7D series models.

In addition, Canon will also release an entry-level full-frame mirrorless camera, which may be equipped with the same image sensor as the EOS R6 camera, and the electronic viewfinder may also be cancelled. Between the entry-level full-frame mirrorless camera and the EOS R6, Canon may launch a mid-range model with a new image sensor that will have lower pixels than the EOS R5.

Canon is apparently planning to release two new cameras to update the the Canon EOS R and the Canon EOS RP. The first body will be “the most affordable full-frame camera Canon has ever made” and it is expected to use the same sensor as the Canon R6. The second will slot between the EOS RP replacement and the current Canon EOS R6, with a new image sensor, but a lower pixel count than the Canon EOS R5.
