Here are the first rumored specifications of the upcoming Canon EOS R7 APS-C format mirrorless camera:

  • 32.5MP APS-C CMOS Sensor
  • DIGIC X Image Processor
  • UHD 4K60p & Full HD 120p Video Recording 10-Bit Internal Video

The source also said the specifications mentioned above are from one of the Canon EOS R7 prototypes. Canon is also working on another two different prototypes: 45MP APS-C CMOS Sensor and 20MP APS-C CMOS Sensor. So, we have to wait to see which camera body will finally get approved for the production line.

As we already reported before, the Canon EOS R7 will be an APS-C format RF mount mirrorless camera and it is already undergoing testing in the wild by a select group of photographers. The official announcement will probably be in August – September 2021.

A few months ago we reported the Canon EOS 7D Mark II will be replaced by an APS-C EOS R Mirrorless camera body. So, the Canon EOS R7 with APS-C sensor will continue the heritage of the EOS 7D series? It seems that it will probably happen in 2021.
