Sony officially released the new firmware updates for Sony a9, a7RII, a7SII, a7II, a6500 and a6300 mirrorless cameras.

Sony A9 Firmware Version 1.01 Details:

  • This utility updates the camera firmware to version 1.01 and improves the overheating warning functionality.

Sony A7RII Version 4.00 & A7SII Version 3.00 Details:

  • “Auto power off temperature” function added
  • Improved operability when moving the focus area position (The standard function will be changed to the focus standard function and you will be able to move the flexible spot point in fewer steps.
  • “Live view display (setting effect reflected on / off)” function added to functions that can be assigned to custom buttons
  • Added “File name setting” function
  • External flash (HVL-F45RM) AF assist light compatible
  • Shortening release time lag when shooting with wireless flash
  • Live View Display Setting Effect Reflect Optimization of aperture operation at distance measurement
  • Improvement of image quality when NR setting on long time is OFF
  • Other operation stability improvement

Sony A7II Version 4.00 Details:

  • Improvement of symptoms that the aspect ratio is incorrect in 16: 9 panels for motion picture guide frame display
