We already reported that Fujifilm is indeed working on a medium format system and the system has already gotten the green light from upper management. This info is confirmed by one of their top Japanese sources. The previous rumors said that this new medium format camera could be ready to be announced as soon as this year, probably at Photokina 2016 in September. Today here is a new rumor about Fujifilm medium format camera.
According to the rumor coming out of Fuji Rumors, the Fujifilm medium format camera will be available in 2017 and it will feature a 50MP medium format sony sensor, just like the Pentax 645Z. This means Fuji will not announce the final version of this medium format at Photokina 2016, maybe they will unveil a mock-up or prototype at Photokina in September.
