Sony FE 14mm f/1.8 GM Lens Coming Next

Three months ago we reported that Sony may announce the FE 16mm f/1.8 GM lens in 2021. But now it seems that Sony actually decided to make it a bit wider: Sony FE 14mm f/1.8 GM lens.

This Sony FE 14mm f/1.8 GM lens will be the world’s fastest 14mm full frame lens ever made, so it could be very expensive, and it will be well-suited to landscape, nature, street photography and astrophotography.

Currently, the widest f/1.8 FE prime lens for Sony mirrorless cameras is the Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art FE lens ($1,599). This new Sony FE 14mm f/1.8 GM lens is expected to be smaller and lighter than the Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Lens.
