Sigma 100-400mm f/5-6.3 & 23mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lenses for Fujifilm Officially Announced

Sigma has officially announced two new additional lenses for Fujifilm X mount:

  • Sigma 23mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens: $549 at B&H, Adorama.
  • Sigma 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Contemporary Lens: $949 at B&H, Adorama.

It’s worth noting that both of these lenses already exist for other mounts. The 100-400mm lens, which comes with image stabilization, can cover the full-frame image circle. However, when used on the X-mount, it functions as a 150-600mm equivalent (with the usual considerations regarding depth-of-field and total light gathering).

On the other hand, the 23mm F1.4 is a compact prime lens designed specifically for APS-C sensors. It complements the existing lineup of 16mm, 30mm, and 56mm DC DN lenses. This lens faces direct competition from Fujifilm’s own 23mm F1.4 and more affordable options from Tokina and Viltrox.

With the introduction of these two lenses, Sigma’s X-mount lens range expands to a total of six lenses, joining the existing three DC DN primes and the 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN.

The Sigma 100-400mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS lens is expected to retail for $949, while the 23mm F1.4 DC DN lens will be priced at around $549. Both lenses are set to become available starting from September 21st. Additionally, for those who already own either lens in E or L mounts, Sigma offers a mount conversion service to convert them to X-mount.
