Dpreview has posted a full in-depth review for the Nikon D5500, including body and design, control and menus, handling, performance and features explained, video and still image quality and lots of sample images. And finally the D5500 achieves 79% score and gets silver award overall.

From Dpreview conclusion:

The D5500 is a compact, lightweight, and very competent DSLR. Its image quality is impressive, feature set is broad, and performance is strong. It’s not great for continuous Raw shooting and the lack of a second control dial may put off some enthusiasts, but overall the D5500 is well worth considering.
