Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark III, G3 X Mark II, G5 X Mark II to Have APS-C Sensor?
The Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark III camera will be announced soon to replace the current G1 X Mark II model ($649). The latest rumor suggests that this Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark III camera will have a 24MP APS-C sensor instead of the 1.5″ sensor (in the current G1 X MKII).
In addition, it seem that Canon will announce several more APS-C sized sensor PowerShot cameras in the next few months. Besides the G1 X Mark III, the upcoming Canon PowerShot G3 X Mark II and G5 X Mark II will also feature the APS-C sensor. But we are not sure if the smaller Canon PowerShot G9 X and G7 X will move to the APS-C sized sensor.
Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark III Rumored Specs:
- 24MP APS-C Sensor
- Dual Pixel AF
- DIGIC 7
- 24-120mm lens (35mm equivalent)
Currently, we don’t know if the upcoming Canon PowerShot cameras will feature 4K video. Stay tuned for more info.
