Canon EOS-1D X Mark III Coming between Q4 of 2019 and Q2 of 2020

The rumor mill is now back with some more information about the Canon EOS-1D X Mark II replacement: The Canon EOS-1D X Mark III flagship DSLR camera will be officially announced between Q4 of 2019 and Q2 of 2020. The specific specifications are still unknown at the time of writing, but it is expected to have an evolutionary update (new version of DPAF and other sensor technology) but nothing revolutionary. The previous report said the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III is being tested by a small number of photographers / engineers.

The Canon EOS-1D X Mark II was announced on February 1, 2016 – over 3 years old – and it is now $500 off at Amazon, B&H and Adorama.

In addition, the source said we won’t see the Pro Canon EOS R mirrorless camera until after release of the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III. And we’d like to see the Canon EOS 5D Mark V DSLR camera in 2020, to replace the current Canon EOS 5D Mark IV.
