Nikon NIKKOR Z 85mm f/1.2 S Lens Announcement Coming Soon?

Hold on to your lens caps – it looks like Nikon is gearing up to make an exciting announcement! After a customer accidentally received a warranty card for a Nikkor Z 85mm f/1.2 S lens while purchasing the Nikkor Z 35mm f/1.8 S lens, Nikon Rumors reported that a big reveal could be just around the corner. Was this a happy mistake, or a sneak peek of what’s to come? Either way, stay tuned for more details very soon!

It’s no secret that Nikon has hinted at a Nikon Z 85mm f/1.2 lens – and now it appears on the lens roadmap. This 85mm S-line lens looks set to join the 25 lenses that have already been released for the Nikon Z series: 11 zoom lenses, 3 wide-angle lenses, 6 standard prime lenses and 5 telephoto prime lenses – and soon, a sixth.

However, there has yet to be any official announcements about this lens, leaving us all guessing about its weight, size and, of course, its price. But, seeing as it belongs in the pro line of Nikon products, it’s safe to assume that it won’t come cheap!

I’m excited to find out if the NIKKOR Z 85mm f/1.2 S will be unveiled in early 2023. Come to think of it, CP+2023 will be from February 23rd to 26th, so I’m expecting there to be some new product announcements and rumors towards the end of the year.
