There will be two big events in 2018: World Cup in Russia and Olympic Winter Games in South Korea. And Canon usually have something to announce for these major sporting events. So, Canon will probably announce some big glasses, some big super telephoto lenses in 2018. The latest rumor presented an internal Canon lens roadmap that included two new ‘big white’ lenses from Canon, which will be announced in 2018.

The focal length details are still unknown, but it is highly likely that one of them could be the EF 600mm f/4 DO IS USM lens which Canon have already shown the prototype at Canon EXPO in September 2015. The other one remains as a mystery at this time, could be an updated EF 200mm f/2L IS and EF 800mm f/5.6L IS, not confirmed yet…

Just a reminder: Canon EOS M20 mirrorless camera, Canon EF 85mm f/1.4L IS USM and three more Canon lenses will be announced at the end of August 2017.
