New Canon 85mm L Lens Coming at Photokina 2016

According to the latest rumors, a new Canon 85mm L Lens will come in the near future, possibly for Photokina in September of 2016. This new 85mm L lens will have improved optics and will also incorporate the blue spectrum refractive element of the recently announced EF 35mm f/1.4L II. The aperture fo this new 85mm lens is still unknown, f/1.2 or f/1.4?

Below are rumored specs of this new 85mm L lens:

  • To be Announced at Photokina 2016 in September
  • Incorporate the blue spectrum refractive element of the recently announced EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM Lens
  • Weather sealed
  • New manual focus system, a faster autofocus system
  • Lighter than previous version
  • Aperture could be f/1.2 or f/1.4
