Sony FE 16mm f/1.8 GM Lens Rumored to be Announced in Early 2021

In addition to the current Sony FE 20mm f/1.8 G lens ($898) and Sony FE 24mm f/1.4 GM lens ($1,398), Sony is planning to another ultra-wide FE prime lens at the beginning of 2021: Sony FE 16mm f/1.8 GM Lens.

This Sony FE 16mm f/1.8 GM lens will be the world’s fastest 16mm full frame lens ever made, so it could be very expensive. This lens will have almost the same size and build quality of the Sony FE 24mm f/1.4 GM lens ($1,398), and it will be well-suited to landscape, nature, street photography and astrophotography.

Currently, the widest f/1.8 FE prime lens for Sony mirrorless cameras is the Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art FE lens ($1,599).
