More Sony FE 12-24mm f/4 G Lens Reviews

Several more reviewers published their Sony FE 12-24mm f/4 G Lens reviews. And it seems that this new Sony FE 12-24mm f/4 G lens is an excellent ultra-wide zoom lens for Sony full frame E mount mirrorless cameras.

Imaging-Resource:

The Sony FE 12-24mm is a fantastic lens! Since it’s the only ultra-wide full frame lens made by Sony, it’s the obvious choice for those that need this field of view (e.g. interiors). Full-frame landscape shooters may be more inclined to look at the Sony 16-35mm, but keep in mind that you could pack your bag with the 12-24mm and 24-70mm to cover the full focal range.

Image quality when shooting outdoors on the A9 was superb and I wouldn’t hesitate to add the 12-24mm ultra-wide zoom lens to my bag!

Colby Brown Photography:

For an ultra-wide angle lens, it offers both great IQ and near corner to corner sharpness. Distortion is very minimual and the sunstar is definitely a step up above the 16-35 f/4 (that I am now retiring). Lastly, astro photographers will be happy with both COMA and astigmatism, especially if they pair this lens with the a7S II that can easily handly pumping up the ISO to counter for the fact that this is an f/4 lens.

Ken Rockwell:

This Sony 12-24 4 G is the best and only ultra-ultrawide available for Sony.

It’s ultra sharp, focuses super fast, has a programmable focus lock button and can make pretty good sunstars.

Sony FE 12-24mm f/4 G Lens: $1,698 at Amazon, B&H, Adorama.
