Sony a9 II vs Sony a9, What’s the Improvements?

Sony already announced the new Sony a9 II pro-level mirrorless camera for professionals in the fields of sports photography and photojournalism. This new Sony a9 II camera body is now avialble for pre-order at Amazon, B&H, Adorama.

But what’s the improvements of the new Sony a9 II, if we compare the Sony a9 II to the orginal Sony a9? The main improvements are on stills capabilities, the design and connectivity options. The new Sony a9 II provides silent continuous shooting up to 20 fps at full 24.2MP resolution (RAW+JPEG) with up to 60 AF/AE tracking calculations per second without EVF or LCD blackout. And the overall build is similar to that of the new Sony a7R IV, including superior weather sealing.

  • Improved button design and feel; increased diameter and feedback of the ‘AF-ON’ button; a refined multi-selector joystick design; an exposure compensation dial lock button; and a redesigned shape and new position for the rear dial
  • Redesigned shutter mechanism to suppress even the slightest movement that can cause image blur; tested for durability in excess of 500,000 shutter cycles

What about the video capability? According to the Sony a9 II specifications, the Sony a9 II has no real improvements in the video filed.
