Sony a1 Major Firmware Update Coming in December

Sony will release a new major firmware update for Sony a1 in December 2023. I don’t know the details of what new features will be added. But I’m hoping at least some of the features available on the more affordable ZV-E1 and FX30 will be added, such as focus breathing correction, AF assist, and animal eye AF in videos.

However, unlike the Sony a7R V, it does not have an AI processing unit, so you may not want to expect AI functions such as subject detection. I’d love to see some surprise new features, but don’t have too high expectations.
