Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens won the “Best Expert DSLR Prime Lens” award at 2015 Technical Image Press Association awards (TIPA). Combining a fast maximum aperture with a wide-angle lens that opens up intriguing photo opportunities, the SIGMA 24mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art lens is designed for full frame sensors. It contains both “F” low dispersion (FLD) and Special Low Dispersion glass (SLD) to minimize chromatic aberration, especially at the edges of the image.
According to DxOMark test results, Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens is one of the best wide-angle prime lenses. Tested on 5D Mark III, It gets the same score 31 as the best 24mm lens: Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM lens.

Sigma 24mm f1.4 DG HSM A Canon vs Canon EF 24mm f1.4L II USM vs Samyang 24mm f1.4 ED AS UMC Canon:
Although at first sight the Sigma’s overall DxOMark score might not look as convincing as the two previous Art models from the maker, it is important to look deeper than the numbers suggest, especially at shorter focal lengths. The Sigma 24mm f1.4 DG HSM is the finest 24mm we’ve seen, although against the Canon 24mm f1.4L II USM, it’s a close-run thing. That model has slightly higher peak sharpness centrally at f4-5.6, but the Sigma has more uniform performance overall, including superior control of CA and distortion. It’s a worthy addition to the range and will only add to the maker’s reputation. Plus at around half the price of the Canon L-series equivalent, it’s a steal.
