Sadly: No Canon EOS R5 Announcement on May 16

The German retailer Foto Hamer leaked some information that the Canon EOS R5 mirrorless camera will be officially announced on May 16, 2020. But now it seens that it is a big mistake and misunderstanding. Foto Hamer has deleted his Facebook post (see our previous post) and confirms that this event is not from Canon. So that means the Canon EOS R5 official announcement will NOT happen on May 16.

Hi guys, you could see the content and info about the live streams of the Testival Online. This is NOT the official presentation of the EOS R5 by Canon! It’s a LIVE workshop with a Canon product expert on the Canon R series and in this framework it presents the previously known information of the R5 There will be no demonstration of the camera and, in our knowledge, will not publish any information that is not yet known. Nevertheless, the workshop is of course exciting.

The Canon EOS R5 is the most anticipated camera in 2020 with lots of amazing features and it is the first camera from Canon that supports 8K RAW internal video recording up to 29.97 fps with no crop. The Canon EOS R5 has passed several Bluetooth wireless certifications worldwide and I believe the Canon EOS R5 will be announced in the next several weeks with a release in July 2020. Stay tuned with us to get more Canon Rumors.
