Rokinon AF 14mm f/2.8 RF Lens for Canon RF Officially Announced
Samyang officially announced the new Rokinon AF 14mm f/2.8 RF Lens for Canon RF mount mirrorless cameras. The US price is $699, and it is now available for pre-order at B&H. Shipping is scheduled to start in November 2019.
From B&H:
Offering a super wide field of view along with an autofocus design, theĀ AF 14mm f/2.8 RFĀ fromĀ RokinonĀ is a prime wide-angle lens for Canon RF-mount mirrorless cameras. Its relatively fast f/2.8 maximum aperture suits working in difficult lighting conditions, and its optical design incorporates three aspherical and two low dispersion elements to help reduce distortion and color fringing for improved clarity and sharpness.
- Super wide-angle prime is designed for full-frame Canon RF-mount mirrorless cameras.
- Three aspherical elements are incorporated in the optical design to control spherical aberrations for increased clarity and resolution from edge to edge.
- Two extra-low dispersion glass elements work to reduce chromatic aberrations; improve overall image sharpness, clarity, and color fidelity; and help to minimize the overall weight of the lens.
- An Ultra Multi-Coating has been applied to individual elements in order to reduce flare and ghosting for increased contrast and a neutral color balance.
- The integrated autofocus motor provides quick, accurate, and precise AF control.
- Manual focus override is also available for refining your focus position.
- Rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to a smooth and pleasing bokeh quality.

Press Release:
Samyang Launches the Worldās First AF 14mm F2.8 for RF Mount
October 25th, 2019, Seoul, South KoreaĀ ā A global optics brand Samyang Optics has announced the worldās first āAF 14mm F2.8 RFā specifically designed for RF mount. Samyang Optics, known for its wide-angle lenses, packs 113.9 degree ultra-wide angle and excellent optical performance in a compact lens suitable for mirrorless cameras.
The Worldās First AF 14mm F2.8 for RF mount
Samyang launched the first manual focus lenses for RF mount, MF 14mm F2.8 and MF 85mm F1.4 in last February to meet consumer demand for more lenses for Canon mirrorless RF cameras and now the new AF lens follows its steps. Samyang Optics, which first introduced autofocus lenses starting with the Sony FE mount in 2016, has taken the title of the worldās first lens release in just three years, becoming one of the worldās leading company in the global lens industry. In 2018, Samyang also launched the autofocus lenses for Canon EF mount and Nikon F mount, and the new RF lens is added to the line-up as the Canon RF mirrorless camera market grows.Outstanding Performance from the Master of Wide Angle Lens
From the world-renowned master of wide angle lenses, Samyang AF 14mm F2.8 RF has 14 lenses in 10 groups with 6 special lenses including 3 aspherical lenses, 1 high reflection lens and 2 extra-low dispersion lenses. Special glasses provides the minimum distortion and outstanding image quality from corner to corner in 113.9 degree of wide angle. Also 7 aperture blades creates soft and circular bokeh and sharp light-rays.Light and Compact Mirrorless AF Lens
RF camera users have to put an RF adapter on their Canon EF lens to enjoy a 14mm angle, at a size and weight that would not ideal for a mirrorless camera. The new Samyang AF 14mm F2.8 RF is designed exclusively to prioritize the user experience of mirrorless cameras. As a result, the length of the flange back was reduced and so the length and weight of the lens were also lowered to maximize the usability of users. It also minimizes the weight of the focusing lens for fast and accurate AF performance.User-oriented Lens Device Design
The new lens is equipped with a switch that allows easy changing between AF and MF when manual focus is required or for fine adjustments. Dust and moisture resistant weather sealing ensures a more secure experience under the outside environment. There is also a rear filter holder on the mount to create more diverse images.Globally Available in November
The Samyang AF 14mm F2.8 RF lens will be available worldwide in November. More detailed information about the product can be found on the official Samyang Optics website and social channels.
