Panasonic GH5 Camera Will NOT Have a Super 35 Sensor!

It is confirmed that Panasonic will release a new 6K capable interchangeable lens mirrorless camera during 2016 financial year (goes til March 31, 2017). This new camera is expected to be Panasonic GH5. And it is highly likely that the new Panasonic GH5 camera will be annnounced at Photokina 2016 in September.

At the 2016 NAB show last week, Panasonic’s Matt Frazer shared valuable tips on how to get the most out of V-LOG – plus his thoughts on the Panasonic GH “Next” – which will NOT have a Super 35 sensor. So the Panasonic GH5 camera will NOT have a super 35 sensor and it is expected to be a 6K capable interchangeable lens MFT mirrorless camera.

And then, the features. The upcoming Panasonic GH5 will record 6K videos at 30fps and, respectively, 4K movies at 60fps. And it will be able to extract 18-megapixel stills while recording videos. This would require a higher-resolution sensor than the 16-megapixel unit found in the Lumix GH4 ($1,297 at Amazon, B&H, Adorama).
