OM SYSTEM OM-5 Announcement Postponed to Late October

The latest rumor suggests that the highly anticipated OM SYSTEM OM-5 announcement will be postponed to late October 2022 due to a shortage of semiconductors and not being able to produce enough. If this is true, it seems that the supply is still inadequate. The shortage may continue for a while after the release.

OM SYSTEM OM-5 Rumored Specs:

  • 20MP Stacked BSI Live MOS MFT Sensor (the same as OM-1)
  • AI artificial intelligence detection auto focus
  • 15 fps high-speed continuous shooting
  • Single card slot design
  • The same BLX-1 battery as the OM-1
  • Announcement in late October
  • Release in November 2022
