Nikon Z8 Rumored to Feature 60MP Sensor and 16-bit NEF Files

According to a leaked screenshot of a new Nikon camera manual, Nikon will announce a new camera that features 60.8MP (9552×6364) sensor and the new 16-bit NEF files (Nikon will introduce a lossy compressed RAW codec to reduce the file size). The previous rumor said the upcoming Nikon Z8 will use the same Sony a7R IV‘s 61MP full frame CMOS sensor. So this new model could be the Nikon Z8

Back in April 2019, we reported that both Nikon D860 and Nikon Z8 cameras might use 60MP IMX455AQR Sensor from Sony. Sony IMX455AQR sensor features 60MP, 8k video, and offers native 64 ISO. It’s being said that the Sony 60MP sensor PDAF is supposed to be better than the Multi-CAM 20000 currently used in some Nikon cameras.
