Nikon to Release 8 New NIKKOR Z Lenses in 2023

Below are the 8 NIKKOR Z lenses in the latest NIKKOR Z roadmap that has yet to be officially announced. According to the roadmap, all these lenses will be released in 2023.

  • NIKKOR Z 12-28mm DX PZ lens
  • NIKKOR Z 24mm DX lens
  • NIKKOR Z 26mm f/2.8 pancake lens (development announcement)
  • NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.2 S lens
  • NIKKOR Z 70-180mm f/2.8 lens (non-S)
  • NIKKOR Z 85mm f/1.2 S lens (development announcement)
  • NIKKOR Z 135mm f/1.8 S lens

In addition to the 26mm pancake lens and 85mm F1.2 that have already been announced for development, there are 8 unannounced lenses remaining on the roadmap until 2023. I wonder if all of these will appear within the year. Will Nikon be able to launch eight lenses at once, which is almost double the number of last year?

Personally, I pay attention to the 26mm pancake lens that seems to be compatible with APS-C. Although it is compatible with full size, it is highly likely that peripheral dimming and distortion will need to be corrected as with the 28mm. Interestingly, it appears to use a metal mount unlike the 28mm and 40mm. I’m curious as to how the compact lens will be positioned. Expect additional information in the future.
