Next Firmware for Canon EOS R5 Coming in November

It is now confirmed that Canon is planning to release new firmware for the Canon EOS R5 in November 2020. But there is still no info about the upcoming firmware for Canon EOS R6.

Here are what can we expect from the next Canon EOS R5 firmware:

  • Canon Cinema RAW light addition
  • C-Log 2 and 3
  • 1080p @ 120fps
  • Further tweaking of temperature control
  • Bug fixes
  • Other codecs are being worked on, but may not arrive in time for the November release.

The Canon EOS R5 and Canon EOS R6 are selling like hot cakes. So, if you are interested or want to get as far to the front of the list as you can, you should probably go ahead and pre-order now.
