Nikon already released the new firmware updates for Nikon D5600 and D3400 DSLR cameras to fix the issue that resulted in unreliable connections between the camera and the iOS 10.2 version of the SnapBridge app. And Nikon will release a new firmware update for Nikon D500 at the end of March 2017 to fix the same issue.
Yes, a new firmware update for the D500 is in the works and should be released by the end of March to address the connection issues users were having with iOS versions 10 and above. We have the new, updated version of Snapbridge to address the issue as well.
