Leica Camera AG registered a new camera in Taiwan’s certification authority NCC (National Communications Commission), the camera name is “Leica SL (Typ 601)“. The details of Leica SL (Typ 601) are completely unknown since the name of the camera and its model code is completely new.
And, a new Leica X-U Typ 113 camera was registered in South Korea government radio agency’s website last month. Based on the previous RRA entries, this new Leica X-U Typ 113 camera will be announced in the next 30-60 days. It looks like Leica is developing new products vigorously at a very fast pace.
I already reported that Leica will announce a completely new camera system by the end of the year (most likely in September). And a source recently said that an interchangeable lens version of the Leica Q will come soon.
Here are some rumored specs of this new camera:
- Full fame camera with autofocus
- New line of AF lenses
- Very good high ISO performance – probably the best in the industry, better than Sony a7S
- Will be available in stores before Christmas
The newly announced Leica Q (Typ 116) Fixed Lens Full Frame Compact Camera is amazing, With its fast lens, easy and intuitive handling, the Leica Q gives the photographer the creative freedom that makes the difference. With a full frame sensor and the Summilux 28 mm/f1.7 ASPH lens, the Leica Q is ideal for street, architecture and landscape photography.
