Canon announced several new compact cameras, printers and camcorders at the CES 2016:
The PowerShot SX540 HS comes a new 20MP BSI CMOS sensor with 24-1200mm equivalent F3.4-6.5 lens, faster DIGIC 6 processor and 1080/60p video capture. Two additional features include a 3″ LCD and Wi-Fi with NFC.
The PowerShot SX420 IS comes with the same 20MP CCD sensor and DIGIC 4+ processor with the SX410, but increases the lens’ total zoom power to 42X (24-1008mm equivalent). The camera also has a 3″ LCD and can capture 720p video.
The PowerShot ELPH 360 HS features a 20.2MP BSI CMOS sensor, DIGIC 4+ processor, 25-300mm equivalent lens, 3″ LCD, 1080/30p video recording and Wi-Fi with NFC.
The PowerShot ELPH 190 IS comes with a 20MP CCD and sports a 24-240mm equivalent lens, 3″ LCD and Wi-Fi with NFC. Since it uses a CCD rather than a CMOS, video resolution tops out at 720p.
The PowerShot ELPH 180 uses the same 20MP CCD as the ELPH 190 IS but has a 28-224mm equivalent lens without optical image stabilization. The ELPH 180 has a 2.7″ LCD and 720p video recording.
Featuring more evolved professional-level features than its predecessor, the new VIXIA HF G40 records 1080/60p Full HD in MP4 and AVCHD and features a Canon Full HD System including a genuine Canon 20x High Definition Optical Zoom Lens to cover a broad range of shooting opportunities, a new advanced HD CMOS PRO Image Sensor for improved low-light performance, and DIGIC DV 4 Image Processor for superb imaging performance. The new VIXIA HF R-Series camcorders feature a 57x Advanced Zoom Lens and SuperRange Optical Image Stabilizer, 3.28 Megapixel Full HD CMOS Image Sensor, and record 1080/60p Full HD video in MP4 (35 Mbps) and AVCHD Progressive (28 Mbps). In addition, the VIXIA HF R72 and R70 camcorders feature Near Field Communication (NFC™) connectivity allowing users to easily share beautiful images online with family and friends by connecting easily to a compatible smartphone, tablet1 or NFC enabled computer.
