Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM & RF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM Lenses Coming Soon

Last month we already reported that Canon is planning to announce two new RF lenses in late 2020: RF 50mm f/1.8 STM lens and RF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM lens.

Now it seems that the Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM and RF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM lenses will be announced in the next few days. Nokishita just reported that the Canon RF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM lens and RF 50mm f/1.8 STM lens have been added to Canon’s latest product list.

The upcoming Canon Products:

  • Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens
  • Canon RF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM Lens
  • Canon ET-83G (WIII) Lens Hood
  • Canon ES-65B Lens Hood

In addition, here is the rumored Canon RF mount lens roadmap for 2021:

  • Canon TS-R 14mm f/4L
  • Canon TS-R 24mm f/3.5L
  • Canon RF 10-24mm f/4L USM
  • Canon RF 14-35mm f/4L IS USM
  • Canon RF 24mm f/1.8 IS STM Macro
  • Canon RF 35mm f/1.2L USM
  • Canon RF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM
  • Canon RF 135mm f/1.4L USM
  • Canon RF 100-400mm f/5.6-7.1 IS USM
  • Canon RF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM
  • Canon RF 500mm f/4L IS USM
  • Canon RF 600mm f/4L IS USM
  • Canon RF 800mm f/5.6L IS USM
  • Canon RF 1200mm f/8L IS USM

So, there will be a total of 14 new RF lenses coming in 2021. The TS-R lenses are “groundbreaking” autofocus tilt-shift lenses for the RF mount.

The Canon EOS R5 and Canon EOS R6 are selling like hot cakes. So, if you are interested or want to get as far to the front of the list as you can, you should probably go ahead and pre-order now.
