Canon EOS 5D Mark IV to Feature 4K Video?

The rumor mill is back with more information about the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV – the upcoming Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR camera will shoot 4K video footage and it will NOT be announced before the EOS-1D X Mark II begins shipping, which is expected in April.

So, this means we still have several months to wait before we will likely see the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV camera announcement.

Below are the previous rumored specs of Canon EOS 5D Mark IV:

  • 28mp
  • 9fps
  • DIGIC 6+ (They won’t launch DIGIC 7 so closely to a flagship camera)
  • 61 point AF
  • CFast & SD
  • Touchscreen
  • Built-in GPS & Wifi
  • Lighter weight

Canon EOS 5D Mark III ($2,499) is a great all-around camera, but it is not perfect and it is three-and-a-half years old. These days Sony and Fujifilm have vaulted ahead in the innovation game. So, if the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV doesn’t have enough revolutionary upgrade in performance, people will look elsewhere for a camera body solution, like Sony a7RIINikon D810. So Canon will have to be careful about the choices made in this camera.
