Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM Lens Coming around Photokina 2018
We know Canon is currently developing hard on the new EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM lens, to replace the current EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II model which was announced in March 2010. In late 2016 Nikon released the new AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR lens ($2,796) to update the 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II lens ($2,096). So we believe Canon will announce the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM lens this year!
The latest rumor suggests Canon will unveil this EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM lens at Photokina 2018 in September (or shortly before the Photokina). And I believe if Canon is planning to announce this lens in 2018, Photokina will be the right place for the announcement.
In addition, the new Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS II USM lens will be announced soon, probably in the next several weeks!
Reminder: the current Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II lens is on sale ($200 off) at Amazon, B&H, Adorama for $1,899.
