Canon EF 50mm f/1.4L IS USM Lens to be Announced in 2018?

Canon has filed several new 50mm f/1.4 patents in the past few years, and the latest rumor suggests that Canon will announce a new EF 50mm f/1.4L IS USM lens sometime in the first half of 2018. The source also said two prototypes are currently being tested by select photographers.

Canon already announced the new EF 85mm f/1.4L IS USM lens ($1,599), and this upcoming Canon EF 50mm f/1.4L IS USM was probably developed alongside the new EF 85mm f/1.4L IS lens.

But you know, everything (aperture and specs) maybe change before the final model is done and ready for production.
