100MP Canon EOS R System Camera to be Announced Next Year

In addition to the upcoming Canon EOS R5C RF-mount cinema camera, Canon is also working hard on a new high-megapixel EOS R series camera (EOS R5S?). We previously reported that the Canon EOS R5S high-megapixel camera is now being tested by a very select group of photographers as a finished product, and it will feature a new 90MP sensor, which “just about doubles” the 45MP sensor of the Canon EOS R5. But now it seems it seems there is a possibility that an ultra-high pixel sensor of 100MP or more will be installed.

Currently, Canon hasn’t yet internally decided on which image sensor will come in the new high-megapixel RF mount camera. And this high-megapixel Canon EOS R system camera will replace the Canon EOS 5DS and 5DS R.

In addition, the high-megapixel Canon EOS R series camera is not simply going to be an EOS R5 body with a higher resolution sensor, but a camera deasigned specifically for landscape and studio photographers. So it may be a camera that is quite different from the EOS R5 in terms of body design and functions.
