Sony “G Master” Series Lenses Coming Soon, First Lens is 24-70mm f/2.8

Sony said that they would release some more new lenses in the next few months, now it seems that they are going to get by on the skin of their teeth, assuming an announcement comes very soon. A new “G Master” pro line of F/2.8 zooms is coming down the pipe.

According to a report coming out of Sony Alpha Rumors, Sony officially trademarked a new logo called “G Master” for the upcoming f/2.8 zoom series. The first of three to-be-announced lenses in this new ‘G Master’ lens line is set to be a 24-70mm f/2.8. The detailed info (specs and price) of this new 24-70mm f/2.8 ‘G Master’ lens are still unknown.

The new Sony “G Master” series lenses are expected to be “Pro” High End E-mount lenses, and their G-Master line is probably more in line with Sigma’s Art Series premium-grade line, and probably better than their current Sony-Zeiss lenses. And yes, it will be more expensive too.

It is unclear what the other G Master fast zooms would be, 16-35mm f/2.8 and 70-200mm f/2.8? Maybe!

The CP+ show 2016 runs from February 25, 2016 until February 28, 2016. Maybe Sony will annnounce the new “G Master” series lenses at CP+ 2016.
