Sony Announced the 3rd Generation Global Shutter Sensors

Sony announced the 3rd generation Pregius Global Shutter sensors featuring 4.5um pixel and faster frame rates. FLIR Systems (former Point Grey) video explains the main differences between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generations of Pregius sensors:

The third generation Pregius sensors build on strengths of previous generations with increased speed, enhanced imaging performance, and new on-sensor features. Whether you are looking for a replacement for your existing CCDs or are building a new system with the latest technology, be sure to keep an eye out for updates from FLIR on the Sony Pregius Generation 3 Global Shutter CMOS Sensors!
