Sony A6xxx will NOT be the A6000 Successor

The new Sony A6xxx will not replace the Sony A6000, but the NEX-7, according to the recent rumors.

A new Sony A6xxx E-mount mirrorless camera will be announced between May 20 – 23 to replace the Sony NEX-7. This camera will replace NEX-7 and become a new camera between Sony A6000 and NEX-7.

“The new camera will not replace the a6000. But will be in different positioning like nex-6 and nex-7”


“I have been told by a Sony rep that the new A6xxx will replace the NEX-7 too”

Below are the new rumored specs of Sony A6100 mirrorless camera:

  • No 4K Video
  • 24.3 MP sensor
  • APS-C
  • 1080p XAVCS codec
  • Announcement in May or June, 2015
