Rumor: Zeiss Batis 60mm f/2.8 Macro Lens Coming in September 2016

The Current Sony FE 90mm f/2.8 Macro G OSS Lens

We already reported that Zeiss will announce two more batis lenses and two more loxia lenses by the end of 2016. And the previous rumor said that Zeiss will announce one new Batis 135mm and one Loxia 85mm this Autumn, probably at Photokina 2016 in September.

Today according to the report coming out of SonyAlphaRumors, the next Zeiss Batis lens will be Batis 60mm f/2.8 Macro lens and this new Zeiss Batis 60mm f/2.8 Macro will be released in September 2016. The new Zeiss Batis 60mm f/2.8 Macro lens will be the second FE macro lens (The first one and the only one is Sony FE 90mm f/2.8 Macro G OSS Lens). This info is NOT confirmed by trusted sources and it is the first time we have heard such a Batis 60mm f/2.8 Macro lens, so it’s best to take reports with a pinch of salt.

But, if the rumor is true, Zeiss will soon announce this Batis 60mm f/2.8 Macro lens. Stay tuned on Camera Times, if we can confirm or deny this information from a known source, we’ll update this post.

By the way, the current Sony FE 90mm f/2.8 Macro G OSS lens is really amazing and it is now in stock at Amazon, B&H, Adorama for $1,098.
