Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 180-400mm f/4 ED TC VR Lens to be Announced Soon

The Current Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 200-400mm f/4G ED VR II Lens

Nikon will soon announce a new AF-S NIKKOR 180-400mm f/4 ED TC VR pro-level telephoto zoom lens with a built-in 1.4x teleconverter just like the Canon EF 200-400mm f/4L IS version ($10,999), to replace the current Nikon 200-400mm f/4G ED VR II lens ($6,997).

Aimed at professional action and sports photographers, this new Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 180-400mm f/4 ED TC VR lens will have extremely high optical quality (including a fluorite element (FL)) and it will be very expensive – The canon version is $10,999, so this Nikon version with FL element should be priced anywhere from 10-14k! Shipping is expected to start before the 2018 FIFA World Cup that will take place in Russia from June 14th to July 15th, 2018.

In addition, Nikon is planning to announce a new macro lens (probably 60mm) to replace the current AF-S Micro-NIKKOR 60mm f/2.8G ED lens, and Nikon is rumored to announce two mirrorless cameras in 2018: one Nikon DX mirrorless (21MP, probably from Nikon D500 sensor) and one Nikon full frame mirrorless (45MP, probably from Nikon D850 sensor).
