I have an issue with rather expensive lenses not being properly dust and moisture sealed. It is only a matter of (a short) time before the first dust particles appear in your photo’s. A shame that only Sigma integraded this in its ‘S’-version. I would lean towards Nikon by default in order to extend my holy trinity lens set up. But the lack of proper sealing and thus protection of my investment will result in choosing for the Sigma S alternative…Frank

Frank is it posible to get the lens cleaned?

      • Frank Verlinden

Dear ruben, not that I’m aware of. That would mean disassembly of a very complex piece of technology in order to have access to the lenses. I do not see this happening. And if so, at what cost? Stay away from these lenses. I have bad experiences with them in this regard….

          Thank you for the advice

Dust that gets inside lenses does not show up on images, dust that gets on the camera sensor does.

I have other experiences… Not to mention what moisture and dew can do. In the meantime very impressed and happy with the sigma sports…..

A weather sealing on the lens Mount does not prevent dust or moisture coming in to the lens my experience is that moisture and dust is coming into the lens true the extended barrel when it is pulled in and out and dust is following
