Canon EOS 7D Mark III Rumored Specs: 30MP Sensor and 4K Video

The upcoming Canon EOS 7D Mark III (Canon 7D Mark II replacement) is expected to be announced sometime in the first half of 2018, probably at CP+ 2018, which will take place in February. The latest rumor suggests that the Canon EOS 7D Mark III DSLR camera will feature a 30MP sensor and it will have the ability to capture 4K video.

The current Canon EOS 7D Mark II ($1,499 at Amazon, B&H, Adorama) is three years old and it uses a 20MP sensor, so if Canon plans to upgrade the 7d line, featuring a 30MP sensor on the Canon EOS 7D Mark III is really a great choice and improvement.

Canon EOS 7D Mark III Rumored Specs:

  • 30MP sensor
  • 4K video/30p 1.4x
  • 12 fps
  • No AA filter
  • 1D X Mark II focusing
  • Tilting touch screen
  • CFast/SD
  • Built-in Wi-Fi
  • Price around $2,000

In addition, Canon is expected to announce the new Canon EOS 90D DSLR camera in early 2018 before the Canon EOS 7D Mark III.

None is confirmed yet at the time of writing, so it’s best to take reports with a pinch of salt.
