Canon EOS 5DS (R) Mark II Will Not Come in 2017

The next big announcement from Canon should be the Canon EOS 6D Mark II and Canon EOS Rebel SL2. Canon recently registered two cameras with the code name “DS126631” and “DS126671”, which are expected to be the upcoming Canon EOS 6D Mark II and Canon EOS Rebel SL2 (EOS 150D).

But, what about the Canon EOS 5DS (R) replacement, the previous rumor said the Canon EOS 5DS (R) Mark II DSLR camera will probably be announced in Q4 of 2017, just before the close of 2017. Today according to the report from CanonRumors, the Canon EOS 5DS (R) replacement will NOT come in 2017, maybe Canon will announce another high megapixel DSLR instead. And it is highly likely that Canon will unveil only one body to replace both the 5DS and 5DS R in the second half of 2018.

Then there are Canon’s innovative sensors, the 250MP and the 120MP sensors, which are rumored to go on the EOS 5DS replacement. Currently, we have no information about the megapixel count of the Canon EOS 5DS (R) Mark II, but I think there will be a significant jump (from the current 50.6MP) waiting for us. And the Canon EOS 5DS (R) successor will likely have a new sensor and nearly the same ergonomics and features as the newly released Canon 5D Mark IV.

This is juat a rumor, none is confirmed anyway so it’s best to take reports with a pinch of salt.
