Canon EOS 5D Mark IV Will Not Come in the Near Future

According to the latest rumors, the Canon EOS 5D Mark III replacement (5D Mark IV) will not come in the near future. And we will probably see the EOS-1D X Mark II first.

The rumors said Canon’s next announcement is on August 14th and Canon will announce a DSLR camera body and two lenses. But nothing happened. Maybe we can see something in the next month or so.

What we will see in this year is the EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM lens, this lens will start shipping before December, 2015.

And according to the DPReview forum posts, there will be two Canon EOS 5D Mark III replacement: Canon 5DX (High Iso enhanced) and Canon 5DC (Video enhanced).

Canon EOS 5DX Rumored Specs:

  • 28MP sensor
  • 12fps
  • Dual Pixel AF III
  • New and more advanced AF system
  • Anti-flickr technology (seen first on the EOS 7D Mark II)
  • Crop mode (featured on the EOS 5Ds)
  • ISO 100-204,800 (expandable to 409,600)
  • to be announced at Canon Expo or Photoplus at the Javits Center.

Canon EOS 5DC Rumored Specs:

  • 18MP
  • 61 point AF system
  • ISO 100-204.800
  • 4k video (source uncertain on frame rate)
  • Dual Pixel AF III
  • Many advanced video features
  • Features taken from Canon’s Cinema cameras
