Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS USM Lens Will NOT Come in 2017

Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM Lens

As we already reported, Canon is actively working on the new EF 24-70mm f/2.8L lens with Image Stabilization feature. But this Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS USM lens is still in testing, so it will not come in 2017. Every other lens manufacturer and even competitors are offering the IS version of their 24-70mm f/2.8 to photographers. Hope Canon can unveil this long-waited EF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS lens in early 2018.

There are two or three prototypes exist in testing, but no final design has been decided on. The new Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L standard zoom lens with Image Stabilization feature will provide better performance than the current EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II.

The previous rumor said this new EF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS lens will have the new BR element that on EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM Lens. This Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS will be more expensive than EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM ($200 off now), and it will not replace the current EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM.
