Canon EF 200-600 f/4.5-5.6 IS Lens Rumored to be Released in 2016

The latest rumors said that Canon is actively working on a new EF 200-600 f/4.5-5.6 IS super telephoto zoom lens and this new lens will be released some time in 2016. The detailed info (specs and price) of this EF 200-600 f/4.5-5.6 IS lens are still unknown.

This EF 200-600 f/4.5-5.6 IS lens is expected to be a non-L lens, and it will be cheaper than the current EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II lens to compete directly with the Tamron and Sigma super telephoto zoom lenses, like Tamron 150-600mm F/5-6.3, Sigma 150-600mm f/5.0-6.3 Contemporary lens, Sigma 300-800mm f/5.6, Sigma 50-500mm f/4.5-6.3.

If the price of this EF 200-600 f/4.5-5.6 IS lens is below the current EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II lens, I believe it will be well welcomed by most canon users. And I hope we can get more info about this lens at the NAB 2016.

Stay tuned for more info.
